Golden Hippo in Woodland Hills, CA offers a Social Media Intern role for a summer. You’ll support content creation across platforms, assist with stories, trends, scheduling in Vista Social, and help with monthly data reporting.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor's degree, local to the North LA area, with basic design skills and familiarity with major social networks. The internship runs Jan 11–Mar 14, with hybrid work 2-4 days/month in the office and opportunities for mentorship and skill

Qualifications

• Basic graphic design and video editing skills with Canva/Adobe Spark/iMovie/CapCut.
• Familiar with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter) and Threads.

Responsibilities

• Content creation support for our health & wellness brand, including UGC-style video or photos.
• Instagram Story creation to drive traffic and engagement.
• Weekly trend/industry reporting and competitor monitoring.
• Content scheduling in Vista Social.
• Assist with pulling and reporting monthly data in performance sheets.

We’re Looking For A: Social Media Intern

Location: Hybrid (Woodland Hills, CA)

Program Dates:

• Start Date: January 11th
• End Date: March 14th

What You’ll Be Doing: The Golden Hippo Social Media team is looking for a summer intern who is looking to learn the ropes of running social media at a large company. They will learn hands-on skills like content creation on multiple platforms, data and metrics reporting and other industry standard social first processes.

• Content Creation: Support the social media team with content creation for our biggest health & wellness brand. This may include shooting UGC-style video or photos at home or in-office, supporting photoshoots by building moodboards, creating graphics for promos, sales, or educational content and/or other creative content drivers.
• Instagram Story Creation: Ideate and create Instagram stories for brands that will encourage clicks to drive traffic to our website and revenue-driving engagement
• Identifying Trends & Industry Updates: Report weekly on industry trends, relevant brands and competitors and compile a weekly report to share with the social team.
• Content scheduling: Assist in scheduling content in Vista Social.
• Data/Metrics reporting: Assist with pulling and reporting monthly data in performance sheets.

Qualifications (Note: We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.)

• Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark).
• Knowledge of photography and video editing (e.g., iMovie, Adobe Premiere, CapCut).
• Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter (X), Threads
• Competency in Google Suite: Sheets, Docs etc
• Ability to track and interpret basic social media analytics (e.g., engagement, reach, impressions)
• Ability to adapt writing tone to match brand voice and audience.
• Willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of the brand’s social media strategy.
• Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with the broader marketing team.
• Creative problem-solving to create innovative and eye-catching content.
• Familiarity with meme culture, viral content, and social media challenges.
• Ability to identify and adapt to emerging social media trends.
• Are local to the North LA area and willing to come into the office 2-4x a month.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree.

The base hourly range is $18-$20.

The posted hourly range in this job posting reflects data based on California's cost of labor analysis. This salary range is subject to change per state; please click here to find the pay differential in your state of residence if the role is remote
