Job summary

Indy Fuel Hockey Club is seeking a Social Media Intern to support the Social Media Manager and Director of Media Relations on game-day initiatives and content creation. You will work all 36 Fuel Home Games with flexible hours and contribute to the marketing and content team.

The internship runs from October 2026 to May 2027, with in-person work and weekly in-office days. Compensation is $50 per game day and unpaid office hours.

Job Summary

Are you passionate about social media and sports? Are you interested in helping take our social brand to the next level? The Social Media Intern will assist the Social Media Manager & Director of Media Relations in all game-day initiatives related to the department. This position will work all 36 Fuel Home Games with office hours available throughout the week to create content and be a part of the marketing and content team. This internship runs from October 2026 to May 2027.

Qualifications

• Able to receive college credit for your internship
• Must be able to work the majority of home games
• Must be able to work a 5-8 hour office administrative shift once every 1-2 weeks
• Must be able to stay on until season end in April is preferred
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work effectively with little to no supervision
• Must be able to troubleshoot in response to challenges
• Must have excellent communication skills and act as a team ambassador with every interaction
• Must have excellent strong personal organizational skills

Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To

• Capture live in-game content for use on social media channels for home games
• Contribute to fan engagement initiatives and content brainstorming
• Assist with in-game fan interaction, including managing contests on social media
• Help organize, label and archive photo and video content for future use
• Create short form video content for Reels and TikTok
• Assist with capturing social media content at select community events as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience or coursework in either journalism, broadcasting, photography, videography, social media or a related field
• Experience using a DSLR or mirrorless camera
• Familiarity with photo editing software, particularly Adobe Suite
• Experience editing short-form video content for social media

Additional Details

• Internship duration: Full Season (October - April)
• Time commitment: Game days + at least one weekly in-office day (roughly around 5 office hours a week)
• Compensation: $50 per game day, unpaid office hours
• Location: In-person
