Job summary

The Great Lakes Baseball Academy is seeking a Social Media Intern for the Winter term to help capture athlete training, edit photos and videos, and support the creation of graphics and social media content. You will work evenings 2-3 hours, 1-2 nights a week, with a stipend based on experience, and have the chance to showcase your work in a professional sports environment.

Ideal candidates have a related degree or are enrolled, 1-2 years in social media or content creation, and proficiency with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or enrollment in Marketing, journalism, public relations, etc.
• 1-2 years of social media management or content creation experience
• Photography and videography experience is a big plus
• Familiarity with sports/youth sports, especially baseball
• Comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of Twitter/X and Instagram
• Able to work 2-3 hours per night, 1-2 nights per week

Responsibilities

Job Overview

Great Lakes Baseball Academy, a leading organization in youth baseball, is looking to hire a talented Social Media Intern to join our team this Winter. This position will allow applicants to gain valuable experience across all areas of social and digital media. Focusing mostly on capturing photo and video content, you will also gain experience creating graphic elements, developing social media strategy and working in the fast-paced sports industry. Responsibilities for Social Media Intern

• Capture and create videos of our athletes during winter training
• Take and edit photos that capture the atmosphere of training sessions
• Produce and edit social media “bits”
• Post to social media accounts while maintaining brand voice and style
• Post live content to Instagram stories

Preferred Qualifications for Social Media Intern

• Bachelor's degree in OR enrolled in a program in a related field. (Marketing, journalism, public relations, etc..)
• 1-2 years of social media management or content creation experience
• Big plus if experienced in photography and videography
• Familiarity working in sports and/or youth sports (specifically baseball)
• Comfortable with working with Adobe Creative Suite
• General knowledge of Twitter/X and Instagram
• Ability to work 2-3 hours a night ~1-2 nights a week

• Internship runs between September-March (dependent on applicant availability)
