About the Role

We are seeking a Bay Area-based Social Media Content Specialist to support social media planning, content creation, and live event coverage for an annual user conference taking place October 27-29, 2026, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

This temporary, project-based contractor role will focus on capturing the energy and key moments of the conference through engaging, brand-aligned social media content. LinkedIn will be the primary channel, with adapted content for Instagram, X, and Facebook as appropriate.

Working closely with the Communications team, you will help develop a social media plan, prepare content in advance, capture photos and short-form video onsite, and publish timely updates through the company's social media accounts. You will report directly to the Senior Corporate Communications Manager, who will provide guidance and oversight throughout the project.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with the Communications team, company staff, and the event photographer to identify opportunities and coordinate content capture.
  • Post-Event Content: Help organize, finalize, and deliver any remaining content following the event.
Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to create engaging, platform-appropriate content.
  • Experience capturing photos and short-form video using a smartphone or similar equipment.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and other major social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, live-event environment.
  • Excellent judgment and an understanding of what makes content timely, relevant, and worth sharing.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable adapting plans as event priorities evolve.
  • Experience covering conferences, corporate events, or executive communications is a plus.
Project Details
  • Approximately 32 hours total, including pre-event planning, onsite coverage, and post-event deliverables.
