Comfy Stone, a video marketing agency based in New Orleans, LA, seeks a creative Freelance Social Media Content Creator to join as a part-time contractor. Social Media Content Creator Comfy Stone is a video marketing agency based in New Orleans, LA. We help brands show up powerfully on social media through compelling, video-driven content. We are looking for a creative, camera-confident Freelance Social Media Content Creator to join our contractor team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will work alongside our Social Media Manager on client shoots, capturing short-form video and photo content, and then take that footage through the editing process to create polished, platform-ready deliverables. This position starts part-time with real potential to grow into a full-time role as our client roster expands.

Content Capture & Production

• Shoot short-form video and photo content for Comfy Stone clients on location and at our studio, working alongside the Social Media Manager.
• Capture story-driven content for a variety of clients, including brand stories, industry expert italking heads, testimonials, and social campaign content, guided by each client's creative direction and goals.
• Operate camera, phone rigs, and on-set equipment before, during, and after each shoot.

Editing & Post-Production

• Edit raw footage into polished short-form social content, including Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts.
• Apply captions, text overlays, transitions, music, and sound design appropriate to each platform and client brand.
• Reformat and repurpose content across multiple platforms and aspect ratios as needed.
• Deliver edits in a timely manner and incorporate feedback from the Social Media Manager or account team efficiently.

Collaboration & Workflow

• Work closely with the Social Media Manager to align on shoot goals, content needs, and editing priorities.
• Organize and upload raw footage and final assets to Comfy Stone's file management system after each shoot.
• Maintain consistency with each client's brand voice, aesthetic, and creative standards across all content.
• Stay current on short-form video trends, formats, and platform preferences and bring fresh ideas to the team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience shooting and editing short-form social media content; portfolio or reel required.
• Proficiency in video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut.
• Comfortable operating a iPhone camera and/or Osmo Pocket 3 on set.
• Strong understanding of Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts and what makes content perform and stop the scroll.
• Comfortable collaborating on set in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• Ability to work independently, take creative direction, and manage editing deadlines.
• Must be available at least 8 to 12 hours during normal business hours (Monday through Friday) per week for scheduled shoots.
• New Orleans-based; shoots take place on location and at our studio in New Orleans, LA.

Compensation and Details

• Pay: $20.00/hour
• Contract Type: Part-Time, 1099 Independent Contractor
• Hours: Part-time, flexible; minimum 8 to 12 hours per week available during normal business hours for shoots
• Work Location: In-person at client locations and the Comfy Stone studio in New Orleans, LA
• Growth: This position has the potential to grow into a full-time role.
