Part-Time Social Media Video Editor Comfy Stone is a video marketing agency based in New Orleans, LA. We help brands show up powerfully on social media through compelling short-form video content. We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Part-Time Social Media Video Editor. In this role, you will edit short-form video content, including Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts, for a variety of clients. This is a part-time, flexible contract position with hours varying week to week based on project volume.

Responsibilities include

• Edit short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) from raw footage to platform-ready deliverables.
• Apply captions, text overlays, transitions, and sound design suited to each platform's style and audience.
• Repurpose and reformat content for multiple social media platforms as needed.
• Collaborate with the content team to ensure edits align with client brand identity and campaign goals.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions from account managers in a timely manner.
• Organize and manage raw footage and project files within Comfy Stone's file management system.
• Stay current on social media trends, emerging editing styles, and platform best practices.
• Meet agreed-upon project deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of video editing experience, with a focus on short-form social media content.
• Portfolio showcasing a mix of edited social media videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) required.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and what makes content perform.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and ability to take and incorporate creative direction.

Pay

Project-based. Rates vary based on project scope and experience. Most assignments are paid per project rather than hourly. For example, editing a package of six short-form social media videos starts at $240.
