Job description

Bleacher Breaks is hiring an editor to work alongside our Social Media Manager. This is an

editing-first role: the majority of your week is short-form video editing and graphic work, at

volume, on a consistent turnaround.

Just as important as the technical work is the eye behind it. We generate a lot of raw footage —

live breaks, on-site content, original shoots — and much of the job is watching it and knowing

what's in there. Spotting the reaction, the pull, the moment that becomes the clip is a skill, and

it's the one we're weighting most heavily.

Beyond editing, you'll contribute across the rest of our content operation, and there's room to

grow into that side of it over time. But the core of the role is turning footage into finished

content, day in and day out.

What you'll be doing
Primary — editing
  • Cut short-form video for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts at consistent daily volume
  • Review raw break and event footage and pull the moments worth posting
  • Handle pacing, captions, sound design, and hooks — not just assembly
  • Build graphics, thumbnails, and static posts in Photoshop
  • Adapt and maintain existing templates so output stays on-brand
  • Manage your own project files, exports, and turnaround times
Supporting
  • Schedule and publish across platforms
  • Write captions and on-screen copy in our voice
  • Film on-site, on location, and around live breaks
  • Appear in original and trend-based content
  • Track weekly performance and note what's landing
  • Keep up with comments and engagementAs you grow into the role: scripting your own concepts, designing original graphics from scratch, and owning a recurring series.
What you'll bring
Required
  • Short-form editing — Premiere Pro, CapCut, or comparable. You can work quickly without the quality dropping, and you understand why a cut lands where it does.
  • Photoshop — comfortable building and editing graphics, thumbnails, and layered files
  • An eye for content — you can watch raw footage and identify what's worth posting, and you can articulate why. You follow short-form closely enough to know what's performing right now and what's already tired.
  • Volume and consistency — you can turn around multiple edits a day and hit deadlines without being chased
Also valuable
  • Filming — confident on phone or camera, with a feel for framing, lighting, and audio
  • On camera — comfortable appearing in content
  • Writing — captions and hooks that read naturally
  • Platform fluency across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Analytics — able to work in platform insights and explain what the numbers point to
Preferred
  • Interest in sports, and/or familiarity with the card and breaking world
  • Motion graphics experience (After Effects or similar)
  • A track record growing an account — professional, freelance, or your own
  • Your own camera gear (Sony, Canon, gimbal, mics, etc.)
Why this role

You’ll work directly with someone running the full content process every day, on an account with real volume and a real audience. If you want your editing reps — and a path into the broader content and strategy side — this is a seat that offers both.
