Job summary

The Martha's Vineyard Public Schools seeks a School Adjustment Counselor in Vineyard Haven to support students with social-emotional needs through the Compass program. You will collaborate with teachers, ESPs, and families to implement interventions and promote student success.

Responsibilities include assessment, direct services, advocacy, and collaboration to connect families with community resources while maintaining ethical practice and accurate records.

Qualifications

• MA Certification as a School Adjustment Counselor is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assess student, family, and school needs and develop interventions.
• Provide individual, group, and psycho-educational services to students with social-emotional challenges.
• Advocate and connect families with community resources and support services.
• Consult with stakeholders to support attendance, mental health, behavior and crisis interventions.
• Maintain ethical practice and accurate case records; engage in professional development.
