Job summary

Critical Mass in Chicago is seeking a Designer (Social) to craft platform-native social content across motion, video, photography, and graphic design. You will bring high design craft, typography, and polish to fast-turnaround projects, using AI tools to accelerate ideas and production.

You’ll collaborate with CM Social Team to spot shifts early, craft remarkable work, and deliver consistent output for brand and media social accounts. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience creating content for brand or media social accounts
• Cross-disciplinary skills in ideation, graphic design, photography and video editing
• Strong typography, composition and visual polish applied quickly
• Platform-specific knowledge for different social channels and formats

Responsibilities

• Concept social-first ideas that are platform-native
• Create social content across motion, video, photography, and graphic design
• Deliver high design craft under tight timelines
• Use generative AI tools to accelerate production and explore ideas
• Apply text-based AI for ideation, captioning and trend research
• Collaborate with partners to pitch and sketch post concepts
• Stay ahead of trends and platform formats
• Be a vocal, contributing member of the CM Social Team
