Job summary

Butler Shine Stern & Partners in Los Angeles is seeking a Social Content Creator for both freelance and full-time roles. You will shoot, edit and animate on your own, acting as a one-person band to capture, cut, and craft motion that stops the scroll.

You’ll work with our Creative and Social teams, directing talent, capturing on location or in studio, and delivering lo-fi concepts with high-craft execution while staying on brand.

The Role

We're looking for Los Angeles-based Social Content Creators, full-time and freelance, who can shoot, edit and animate on their own. You're a one-person band: you grab the camera, capture the moment, cut it together and add the motion that makes it pop, often on the same day. Scrappy, resourceful and fast, you bring the ambition to make lo-fi feel high-craft, collaborate easily with our Creative and Social teams, and bring a challenger mindset that asks "what would actually stop the scroll?"

Shoot

• Plan and capture social-first video and photo on location, in studio and at events around Los Angeles
• Shoot solo or with a minimal crew: camera, audio, lighting and phone-first capture
• Direct talent, employees, creators and everyday people on camera with ease
• Bring ideas for trends, formats and hooks that fit each brand and platform
• Capture plenty of coverage so one shoot yields many assets

Edit & Animate

• Edit short-form video for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Stories, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn and paid social
• Add simple motion graphics, animated type, captions and on-screen text
• Handle basic color, sound design, music and audio cleanup
• Version and resize content across aspect ratios and placements
• Turn around quick edits for real-time and reactive moments
• Keep footage, projects and exports organized and archived
• Partner with Creative and Social teams to turn briefs and ideas into finished content
• Work with Production and Project Management on shoot logistics, schedules and approvals
• Stay within brand guidelines while bringing your own creative point of view
• Take feedback well and turn revisions fast
• Share what's working on platform and pitch ideas proactively

Salary is based on skill level, experience, location and portfolio.
