Job summary

Rio Rancho Public Schools (RRPS) seeks an Educational Assistant/Substitute for the Social Communication Program at Rio Rancho High School. This 190-day contract supports students in a social communications classroom under the Special Services umbrella. The role requires a Level 3 K-12 Educational Assistant License or the ability to obtain one, plus a Substitute License.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and licensure eligibility. Start date is immediate.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be able to obtain a New Mexico Public Education Department Level 3 K-12 Educational Assistant License.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a New Mexico Public Education Department Substitute License.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and professionals with preparation and delivery of instructional material.
• Support in one-on-one and small group activities.
• Assist in transferring students and caring for student needs as required.
• Perform substitute duties as assigned and support daily living activities as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service training as per negotiated agreement.
• Monitor and manage the school workroom and assist with supervision on campus.
