Job summary

Soccer Shots Central Iowa is seeking a passionate intern to learn our business and coach children ages 2 to 8. This flexible internship can be for credit/pay and aims to extend into 2027 to experience all seasons of our program.

The role includes running sessions, assisting with sales and marketing, and helping hire/train staff. Compensation is session-based coaching and hourly admin pay, with extensive on-site and office time.

Qualifications

• No prior sports/coaching experience required.
• Genuine passion for children and sports.
• Energetic, engaging and responsible.
• Safety conscious and able to manage active children.
• Reliable transportation and ability to stand, jog, and demonstrate skills for ages 2–8.

Responsibilities

• Bring “Soccer Island” alive with enthusiasm and creativity.
• Conduct soccer sessions for children 2 to 8, including field setup and takedown.
• Familiarize self with operating a small, growing business – Sales, Ops, Coaching.
• Assist with sales/development initiatives and design/implement marketing plans.
• Learn to hire/evaluate/train coaches and staff.
• Help launch our new registration system.
• Coordinate seasonal prep and execution to 45+ schools and 5+ parks.
• Act as representative at events and programs
• Customer service for families and schools
