Job summary

Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) Unidos Middle School seeks a Soccer Head Coach to develop young athletes on and off the field, emphasizing sportsmanship and character building. The coach will guide players through a five-week season and support school values.

Responsibilities include daily practices, equipment management, travel with the team to away games, and organizing end-of-season awards recognition, with required First Aid/CPR and NFHS coaching certifications.

Requirements / Qualifications

The Soccer Head coaching position is currently being offered at Unidos Middle School. Candidates should be experienced in the sport, have coaching experience and a resume of working with student-athletes. Unidos Middle School desires to select a coach who is committed to developing young athletes both on and off the field. Applicants will be required to obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention, as well as all other Napa Valley Unified School District Human Resources required documents. The season begins in February for 5 weeks. The coach receives a district stipend at the end of the season. Duties include five week schedule, conducting daily practice, managing equipment, travelling with the team to away games, developing positive relationships with parents and players, and planning an end of season awards recognition. Must have basic knowledge of the following:

• 1) Character-building aspects of sports, including techniques and methods ofteteaching and reinforcing the core values comprising sportsmanship and goodcharacter;
• 2) Knowledge of physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached;
• 3) Coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent; psychology, nutrition, risk management and the rules and strategies of the sport;
