Job summary

Napa High School is seeking a Soccer Boys Frosh Head Coach to lead the program from November through February, with some off-season activities. The role involves working with NHS staff, student-athletes, parents, and the Booster Club to promote sportsmanship and player development.

Candidates must complete First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and other district-required trainings. A booster stipend is awarded at season end.

Responsibilities

• Teach and reinforce sportsmanship, coaching principles, and educational philosophy.
• Engage in pre-season, in-season and off-season activities as part of program duties.

Requirements / Qualifications

Soccer Boys Frosh Head Coach Position is currently being offered at Napa High School. Candidates should be experienced in the sport, have coaching experience and a resume of working with student-athletes at the high school level. Applicants will be required to obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention, as well as all other Napa Valley Unified School District Human Resources required documents. The season begins in November and runs through February, however some off-season activities are expected. The Frosh Head coach receives a booster stipend at the end of the season.

Must be willing and able to work with our NHS staff, student-athletes, parents, administration, and NHS Athletic Booster Club.

Must have basic knowledge of the following:

• Character-building aspects of sports, including techniques and methods teaching and reinforcing the core values comprising sportsmanship and good character;
• Knowledge of physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached;
• Coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management, and the rules and strategies of the sport.
