The assistant coach receives a seasonal stipend and collaborates with NHS staff, parents, administration, and boosters to provide a positive athletic experience for student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching baseball at the high school level with student-athletes.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports, Heat and Illness prevention.
• Willing to collaborate with NHS staff, parents, administration and boosters.

Responsibilities

• Coach baseball for all levels at Napa High School.
• Develop and implement training, drills, and game strategies.
• Communicate with players, parents, and staff.
• Maintain eligibility and safety compliance.

Requirements / Qualifications

Baseball Assistant (All Levels) Coaching Positions are currently being offered at Napa High School. Candidates should be experienced in the sport, have coaching experience and a resume of working with student-athletes at the high school level. Applicants will be required to obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention, as well as all other Napa Valley Unified School District Human Resources required documents. The season begins in February and runs through May, (although there may be schedule changes due to COVID 19 however some off-season activities are expected. The assistant coach receives a stipend. Must be willing and able to work with our NHS staff, student-athletes, parents, administration, and NHS Athletic Booster Club. Must have basic knowledge of the following: 1) Character-building aspects of sports, including techniques and methods teaching and reinforcing the core values comprising sportsmanship and good character; 2) Knowledge of physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached; 3) Coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management and the rules and strategies of the sport.
