Job summary

Quantum Sky is seeking a SOC Manager to lead the SOC for a Federal client, driving improvements and innovation. This hybrid role is based in Washington, DC with travel to Columbia, SC up to one week per quarter.

The role acts as technical authority for monitoring, detection, analysis, and incident response, and leads continual improvement initiatives, training, and SOP development. A Top Secret/SCI eligible clearance is required and strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience.
• Advanced cybersecurity certification required (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC/SANS).
• Minimum five years of SOC experience at Tier 3/Lead level, including incident commander duties.
• Mature understanding of industry SOC standards and best practices (e.g., OMB, NIST, US-CERT).
• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to provide steady leadership in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for monitoring, detection, analysis, and incident response.
• Lead continual improvement initiatives including knowledge management, automation, tuning, QA/QC, and metrics.
• Ensure a full library of Plans, SOPs, and playbooks exists for all SOC functions.
• Create and implement a training plan to ensure Analysts have superior knowledge to triage and investigate alerts.
• Maintain awareness of the security posture and advise on improvements to monitor and defend the organization.
