Job summary

Old National Bank seeks an experienced SOC Manager to transform our Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel foundation into a high-performing, intelligence-driven SOC. This leader guides analysts and MSSP-supported operations, improving detection quality, incident response, automation, telemetry management, and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on cybersecurity operations experience, including at least 2 years in a SOC manager/lead role.
• Experience staffing SOCs, coverage models, on-call expectations, and vendor relationships.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, and log pipeline tooling.
• Experience with scripting/automation using PowerShell, Python, KQL, Logic Apps, APIs.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, threat modeling, and incident response playbooks.
• Experience with MSSP/MDR partnerships and vendor accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily SOC operations across monitoring, triage, investigation, escalation, and incident response.
• Own MSSP relationships and drive service improvements with defined metrics.
• Govern AI-assisted investigation and response capabilities to improve speed and quality.
• Ensure staffing balance, on-call readiness, and escalation coverage across models.
• Define and visualize SOC KPIs/KRIs and operational reporting for risk visibility.
• Mature Sentinel capabilities, including rules, analytics, playbooks, and data routing.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve visibility and response readiness.
• Mentor SOC analysts through training, reviews, and hands-on development.
