ShorePoint, LLC is hiring a SOC Analyst Tier 1 (Secret Clearance) to support enterprise SOC operations in onsite Washington, DC. The role reviews, triages and investigates alerts under supervision and contributes to improved incident detection.

The position is designed for individuals starting their cybersecurity careers, requiring foundational knowledge and the ability to apply basic technical principles while advancing through training and skills development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 1+ year hands-on experience in a 24/7 SOC environment.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• Industry certifications are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review, triage and investigate alerts to support incident detection.
• Escalate issues to Tier 2 analysts when appropriate.
• Perform initial analysis of security events to identify potential threats.
• Support SOC monitoring activities under supervision.
• Assist in documenting findings and maintaining SOC records.
• Apply basic technical knowledge to resolve straightforward problems.
• Participate in training and skill development to build cybersecurity expertise.

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 1+ year of hands-on experience working in a 24/7 SOC environment.
• Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking.
