Summit 7 Systems in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a SOC Analyst to triage, detect, and investigate security threats. The role includes deployment and maintenance of SIEM platforms and mentorship of junior staff.

Remote work options are available within the US, with a focus on improving security configurations and incident response. Required skills include Windows, Linux, and macOS administration, Microsoft Security Stack experience, and SIEM knowledge.

Qualifications

• Administrative skills across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Experience with the Microsoft Security Stack.
• Familiar with KQL or any other query languages.
• Understand basic principles of Information Security.
• Clear communication and security presentations.
• Familiar with the concept/purpose of a SIEM.
• Security+ certification or SANS SEC401.

Responsibilities

• Triage, detection and investigation of security threats per procedures.
• Deployment, tuning and maintenance of SIEM and detection platforms.
• Track emerging security practices to improve configurations.
• Escalation point for Jr SOC Analysts on triage and IR.
• Mentorship and training for Jr SOC Analysts.
• Projects for service improvement and optimization.
• Implement security measures and assist disaster recovery planning.
• Review SIEM alerts for relevance and urgency.
• Triage per org procedures to confirm incidents.
• Assist with configuration of security monitoring tools.
