Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Security Engineer I to support monitoring, alert triage, and threat detection across networks, systems, and mission data. The role involves following SOC playbooks, performing investigations, and contributing to detection improvements in collaboration with Army stakeholders and IT teams.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree, an active Secret Clearance, and IAT Level II certification or higher, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security alerts across networks, systems, and mission environments to identify potential security threats.
• Investigate security events across multiple platforms by analyzing and correlating telemetry, log data, and network sensor data.
• Validate threats, document findings, and report risk to mission stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Execute established SOC playbooks and support root cause analysis, threat hunting, and development of indicators of compromise (IOCs).
• Contribute to detection tuning, runbook updates, and use case improvements while collaborating with Army stakeholders, information technology teams, and delivery counterparts.

Work You'll Do

As a Security Engineer I on the team, you will be responsible for supporting security monitoring, alert triage, and threat detection activities across AMC networks, systems, and mission data.

• Monitor and triage security alerts across networks, systems, and mission environments to identify potential security threats
• Investigate security events across multiple platforms by analyzing and correlating telemetry, log data, and network sensor data
• Validate threats, document findings, and report risk to mission stakeholders in a timely manner
• Execute established SOC playbooks and support root cause analysis, threat hunting, and development of indicators of compromise (IOCs)
• Contribute to detection tuning, runbook updates, and use case improvements while collaborating with Army stakeholders, information technology teams, and delivery counterparts

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• Active Secret Clearance
• Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification or higher
• 1+ years of experience conducting security monitoring, alert triage, threat detection, and security event investigation across multiple platforms, including analysis and correlation of telemetry, log data, and network sensor data
• Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in Huntsville, AL
• Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
