Job summary

Deloitte's Government & Public Services (GPS) Cyber Defense & Resilience team is seeking a Security Engineer II to support security monitoring, alert triage, and threat detection across AMC networks, systems, and mission data, with an emphasis on reliability and rapid response.

You will collaborate with Army stakeholders and IT teams, execute SOC playbooks, contribute to detections tuning, and document findings for timely risk reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• IAT Level II certification or higher.
• 3+ years of security monitoring, alert triage, threat detection, and event investigation across multiple platforms.
• Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in Huntsville, AL.
• Travel up to 25% based on client work.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Work You'll Do

As a Security Engineer II on the team, you will be responsible for supporting security monitoring, alert triage, and threat detection activities across AMC networks, systems, and mission data.

• Monitor and triage security alerts across networks, systems, and mission environments to identify potential security threats
• Investigate security events across multiple platforms by analyzing and correlating telemetry, log data, and network sensor data
• Validate threats, document findings, and report risk to mission stakeholders in a timely manner
• Execute established SOC playbooks and support root cause analysis, threat hunting, and development of indicators of compromise (IOCs)
• Contribute to detection tuning, runbook updates, and use case improvements while collaborating with Army stakeholders, information technology teams, and delivery counterparts

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• Active Secret Clearance
• Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification or higher
• 3+ years of experience conducting security monitoring, alert triage, threat detection, and security event investigation across multiple platforms, including analysis and correlation of telemetry, log data, and network sensor data
• Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in Huntsville, AL
• Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
