Job summary

PUNCH Cyber Analytics Group is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to support a Federal civilian agency's Security Operations Center from a remote setting. You will work with an experienced team to learn traditional and unconventional intrusion detection, analysis, and mitigation techniques.

The role requires 1–3 years in Network Security, US citizenship, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of work experience in Network Security.
• Hands-on computer and networking experience, incl. TCP/IP, routing, and major Internet protocols.
• US Citizenship required; able to work independently and in a team.

Job description

• You will support a Federal civilian agency's Security Operations Center (SOC) as a Cyber Security Analyst.
• You will learn from an experienced team about both traditional and unconventional ways to detect, analyze, and mitigate intrusions.
• You will work remotely with a 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule that allows for 3 days off per week.
• You must have 1-3 years of work experience in Network Security.
• You should have hands‑on computer and networking experience, including understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and major Internet protocols.
• You need to be a US Citizen and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Experience with Splunk ES, EDR logs (MS Defender), Windows event logs, and VPN logs is valued.
• Current cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or CEH are beneficial.
• Shifts are 4 days/week, 10 hours/day, with options across three shifts (first, second, third).
• Weekend and holiday work is required.
• The schedule offers flexibility to work Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday.
