Roots Community Health invites applicants for an entry-level Manufacturing Specialist In-Training in Oakland, CA. Under supervision, you will learn all aspects of the soap production process—from material prep to packaging—gaining hands-on experience in a supportive, team-focused environment.

You will participate in machinery setup, calibration, and batch preparation while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn technical building maintenance skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to lift up to fifty pounds and work in a team environment.
• Ability to travel between Roots’ sites as needed.
• Must be able to follow safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and operational repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Clean360 factory at all times.
• Learn to set up and operate production machinery following safety and quality standards.
• Assist with machine calibration and ensure proper startup procedures are followed.
• Follow work orders to identify materials and batch requirements.
• Measure and prepare ingredients for production.
• Support quality control processes and monitor product consistency.
• Inspect products for quality and report defects or irregularities.
• Assist with preventative maintenance under supervision.
