Job summary

WORK SCHEDULE

6.5 hours per day; 5:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Monday-Friday during the school year (178 days) and 5 hours per day; 5:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday during the summer (51 days).

Job Summary:

• Unloads and verifies food and supply deliveries against invoice or Purchase order
• Organizes and stores food and supplies using an electric walk behind pallet jack or carts
• Coordinates and assists with outbound deliveries against load sheets.
• Completes daily food requisitions for all meal and snack programs.
• Prepares paperwork related to daily requisitions.
• Ensures proper food handling practices are followed including rotation of products
• Ability to Perform Frequent lifting, bending, pushing and pulling functions
• Ability to work in a Freezer/cooler and outdoor environments.
• Strong Organizational Skills
• Perform all other duties within the level of responsibility of the position as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• Experience in a public school kitchen and/or background in related food service operations
• Knowledge of government guidelines and procedures concerning sanitation and safety
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Must have completed or be willing to enroll and complete the Sanitation and Safety and the School Nutrition Programs courses for Minnesota School Food Services Certification
• Regular, on-time attendance is required
• Stooping, bending, occasional awkward positions may be necessary to perform essential functions of the position. Must be able to lift 31-50 lbs
• Obtain Electric walk behind pallet jack certification through district as part of employment
• Forklift experience preferred but not required
• MN Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate preferred but not required
