Job summary

Mohawk Mountain Ski Area, Inc. in Cornwall, CT is seeking a Ski/Snowboard Instructor to provide a positive, fun, and safe learning environment for guests. You will be an ambassador in uniform while helping skiers and snowboarders build essential skills.

The role reports to the Snowsports Supervisor/Manager and involves teaching skiing/snowboarding, sharing ski etiquette, and supporting learning-center activities. Weekend and holiday work is required.

Qualifications

Description

The Snowsports Pro provides a positive, fun, and safe environment for skiers/snowboarders to build skills. Snowsports pros are responsible for the customer experience during lessons and being ambassadors for Mohawk Mountain whenever they are in uniform. Reports to Snowsports Supervisor, Snowsports Manager.

Essential Duties

• -Instructs customers on the skills of skiing/snowboarding
• -Teaches skier etiquette and safe on-hill behavior
• -Friendly and helpful host to mountain guests
• -Assists with the set-up and take-down of learning center zones
• -Other duties as assigned by the Managerof Snowsports

Position Requirements

Qualifications

• -Is able to effectively communicate with customers
• -Is able to ski and/or snowboard at an intermediate level or above

Special Considerations

• -Must be able to work for extended periods outside in all weather conditions
• -Must be able to stand and work for extended periods
• -Must work weekends and holidays
• -Must be able to bend and lift up to 50lbs
• -Must own or rent appropriate ski/snowboard gear
• -Must have reliable transportation for circumstances of inclement weather

Training

• -Pre-season online or in-person meeting for mountain policies and procedures
• -Pre-season training on & off snow

Wage Range $17.50-$22
