Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring for winter seasonal roles including a Specialist Snowmaking - Controller. This office-based position supports snowmaking by controlling multiple machine rooms from a computer console and coordinating with outside snowmaking operations.

The role requires strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills, with opportunities for growth through Epic Service and wellness benefits. Starting wage range and full-time hours are provided along with housing availability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Grooming experience preferred.
• Must possess valid Driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
• Fluent English required.
• Ability to ski or snowboard at a level 6 capacity if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all snowmaking policies and safety guidelines.
• Operate transportation vehicles per SOPs.
• Understand safe operation of snowmaking equipment.
• Maintain reporting and documentation per operational manual.
• Communicate effectively between shifts and teams.
• Assist with standard snowmaking duties and equipment maintenance.
• Work with Mountain Operations departments (Grooming, Race, Ski Patrol, Lift Maintenance, Fleet maintenance, Lift Operations).
• Perform fan gun maintenance and troubleshoot equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
