Job summary

Summit at Snoqualmie seeks a Snowmaker I to help launch the ski and tubing season and maintain a solid snow base. This entry-level, hands-on role is outdoors, physically demanding, and ideal for team players who are mechanically inclined and thrive in cold mountain environments.

You will learn safe snowmaking equipment operation under guidance, operate hydrants and snow guns, follow radio protocol, and support the crew through diverse weather and terrain.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn is essential; no prior snowmaking experience required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be physically capable of negotiating mountainous terrain while attending to snowmaking equipment.
• Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Punctual, positive, and adaptable; works safely in all weather without complaint.
• Ability to work independently once trained, while knowing personal limits and asking for help when uncertain.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Safety oriented mindset; strong self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-use visual and auditory inspection of hydrants and identify failure vectors.
• Operate hydrants and snow guns with proper procedures and safety awareness.
• Hook up, start up, and shut down snow guns and manage hose bundles.
• Learn and follow radio protocol and report gun state changes.
• Operate snowmobiles and ATVs/UTVs safely on mountain terrain.
• Safely board and unload chairlifts with tools; maintain safety awareness.
