Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring a Snowmaker for the 2026/2027 winter season in Ohio. You’ll operate snowmaking gear to craft premium slopes, work outdoors in alpine conditions, and join a team committed to safety and guest experience.

The role offers a starting wage of $20.00–$23.00 per hour, with opportunities for development and benefits as part of a leading mountain resort group. Seasonal positions are filled on a rolling basis, with pay disclosed at hire.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic hand tool knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work extended hours outdoors in alpine environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowmaking equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate snowmobiles and other vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Perform basic maintenance on snowmaking equipment.
• Contribute to producing optimal skiing surfaces for guests.
• Undertake other duties as assigned.

Hiring for our seasonal positions occurs on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until June 15th or until the positions are filled (whichever is first).

As a Snowmaker, you will brave the elements and help build out the mountain for the skiing guest. Snowmaking is a physically demanding and exciting job. Work with some of the most fascinating equipment on the mountain, and make it snow!

Job Specifications

Starting Wage: $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Operate all snowmaking equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Operate all vehicles, including snowmobiles, in a safe and efficient manner
• Perform basic snowmaking equipment maintenance
• Work on the production of snow to create the best skiing surface for our guests.
• Other duties as assigned

The expected pay range is$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
