Job summary

Winter4Kids in Vernon, NJ is seeking a Snowmaker to create and maintain snow conditions that enable thousands of youths to learn skiing and snowboarding. You will work with the Mountain Operations team to keep the mountain prepared, safe, and high quality for instructional programs.

The role requires operating snowmaking gear, monitoring weather, performing equipment checks, and coordinating startups and shutdowns.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work outdoors in winter weather conditions.
• Ability to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts during snowmaking events.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowmaking equipment in accordance with Winter4Kids' snowmaking plan and safety procedures.
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust snowmaking operations as directed.
• Operate compressors, pumps, snow guns, valves, hydrants, and related equipment.
• Assist with startup, shutdown, and relocation of snowmaking equipment.
• Maintain quality snow surfaces that support safe and enjoyable youth programming.
• Operate snowmobiles and UTVs in accordance with Winter4Kids training and safety standards.
• Perform routine inspections of snowmaking equipment.
• Monitor water systems, pumps, compressors, hoses, valves, fuel systems, and related equipment.
• Identify and report equipment concerns promptly.
• Complete maintenance logs and operational documentation accurately.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs as assigned.
