Lithia & Driveway is seeking a Data Engineer to design scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines, migrating on-prem data to Azure-based cloud solutions, and building ETL/ELT processes with Data Factory and Snowflake. The role emphasizes automation, data quality, and collaboration with Architects, Analysts, and cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in data engineering, strong SQL, Snowflake expertise, and experience with cloud ETL/ELT.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field.
• Strong SQL expertise, including query optimization and stored procedures.
• Experience building data pipelines in cloud environments (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS).
• Hands-on with Snowflake (data loading, transformation, performance tuning).
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with version control (Git/TFS) and CI/CD practices.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication in a cross-functional team.
• Exposure to Python for data processing or scripting (preferred).
• Familiarity with Databricks, Postgres, DBT; knowledge of AI-enabled tools (Claude/Copilot).

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data ingestion/transformation processes for Snowflake and downstream platforms.
• Migrate on-prem SQL Server data processes to Azure-based solutions to improve performance.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines with Azure Data Factory and related tools.
• Develop, test, and optimize SQL scripts and data pipelines for accuracy and efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and self-healing capabilities for data pipelines.
• Partner with stakeholders to deliver data integration and MDM solutions.
• Apply data standards, governance, and thorough documentation across workflows.
• Support CI/CD processes to improve deployment and code quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering practices.
