Business Centric Technology in Addison, TX is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain ELT pipelines for a cloud-native analytics platform on Azure and Snowflake. You will implement Bronze/Silver/Gold data transformations and ensure reliable production workloads.

You will handle data ingestion, modeling, and governance, collaborating with an AI/ML engineer to prepare Silver-layer data for ML. This role is initially onsite with potential for partial remote days after ramp-up.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/IS.
• 5–8+ years in data engineering with Azure and Snowflake.
• Strong SQL with advanced techniques (SCD Type 2, RBAC).
• Experience with HIPAA/PII regulated data.
• Nice to have Python, dbt, and CI/CD for pipelines.

Our Addison, TX-based client is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain data pipelines for a cloud-native analytics platform on Azure and Snowflake. Responsibilities include data ingestion, transformation using Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architecture, and production reliability. The role is initially fully onsite, with potential for two remote days per week after a few months, and is available as a six-month contract-to-hire or direct hire.

COMP: Up to $150K, dependent on candidate’s experience

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Build and maintain ELT pipelines in Azure Data Factory (ADF) ingesting data disparate data sources into Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
• Implement Snowflake Bronze → Silver → Gold layer transformations: incremental loads, SCD Type 2, and fact/dimension modeling aligned to business requirements.
• Write and optimize T-SQL against SQL Server for performant source extraction without disrupting operational workloads.
• Maintain pipeline monitoring, alerting, and error recovery — pipelines support 24/7 revenue operations and uptime matters.
• Handle PHI/PII data in full compliance with HIPAA: field masking, access controls, and audit-ready data handling at every layer.
• Collaborate with our AI/ML engineer to ensure Silver-layer data structures are ML-ready and consistently documented.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8+ years of data engineering experience, including 2+ years with Azure and hands-on production experience with Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, and Snowflake.
• Strong SQL Server/T-SQL skills, including complex queries, CTEs, window functions, and SCD Type 2, plus experience with Snowflake tasks, streams, incremental loading, query optimization, and RBAC.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, idempotency, error handling, and working with regulated data (HIPAA, PCI, or similar).
• Preferred: Healthcare data experience, Python for data transformation and pipeline testing, dbt for Silver/Gold layer management, and Azure DevOps/CI/CD for pipeline deployment.
