Motion Recruitment is seeking a Lead Data Architect to guide the design and evolution of a modern enterprise data platform. The role emphasizes scalable cloud-native solutions, governance, and strong collaboration with engineering and business teams.

The candidate will design data models, optimize Snowflake-based platforms, and lead ELT/ETL pipelines, with a focus on enterprise reporting and analytics. A strategic, senior-level data professional with 5+ years in Data Architecture is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Data Architect with deep modeling skills.
• 8+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields.
• Expert-level data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical).
• Hands-on Snowflake architecture and optimization.
• Strong SQL development in large-scale environments.
• Python development for data engineering/automation.
• Designing enterprise data platforms and cloud-native solutions.
• Experience ELT/ETL pipeline development.
• Data quality, metadata, and lineage frameworks.
• Understanding modern data architectures, CDC, event-driven ingestion and orchestration.
• Able to mentor engineers and communicate complex concepts; authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide data architecture strategy and roadmap development.
• Design scalable data models to support reporting, analytics, and operations.
• Build and optimize Snowflake-based data platforms and solutions.
• Architect and oversee cloud-native ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Establish data standards, governance processes, and best practices.
• Drive data modernization through medallion architecture frameworks.
• Improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of data systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Provide architectural oversight across major data initiatives.
• Mentor data engineers and analytics engineers; review designs and guide complex challenges.
• Evaluate new technologies and lead PoC initiatives.
