Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for Life Sciences. You will work with Snowflake, AWS, DBT, Python, PySpark, and Unix to enable data integration, transformation, and analytics across cloud environments.

The role focuses on end-to-end data workflows, data quality, governance, and collaboration with analysts and stakeholders to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse.
• Expertise in AWS cloud services and cloud-based data architecture.
• Experience with DBT for data transformation and modeling.
• Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data processing.
• Experience with Unix/Linux scripting and environment management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, AWS, Python, and PySpark.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes for multi-source ingestion and transformation.
• Develop data transformation models using DBT and ensure data quality and governance.
• Work with AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Redshift) and cloud-native data tools.
• Design and support Snowflake data warehousing, schemas, and performance tuning.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows for reliability and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Contribute to data migration and modernization in Life Sciences environments.
• Create and maintain technical docs, data flow diagrams, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and governance standards.
