Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Data Engineer with strong Snowflake, AWS, DBT, Python, PySpark, and Unix expertise to support Life Sciences data initiatives. Qualifications

• Hands-on Snowflake Data Warehouse experience.
• Expertise in AWS cloud services and cloud data architecture.
• Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data processing and automation.
• Strong knowledge of DBT for data transformation.
• Experience with SQL optimization, data modeling, and ETL/ELT.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux scripting and environment management.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Git version control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, AWS, Python, and PySpark.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes for ingestion, transformation, and loading from multiple sources.
• Develop data transformation models using DBT and implement data quality and governance practices.
• Work with AWS services like S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Redshift, and other cloud-native data services.
• Design and support data warehousing solutions in Snowflake, including schema design and performance tuning.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure reliability and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
• Support data migration and modernization initiatives in Life Sciences environments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and data flow diagrams.
