Job summary

SmartLight Analytics is migrating its data platform from SQL Server to Snowflake. This role is central to that transition, focusing on reverse-engineering legacy SQL Server logic and re-architecting it into Snowflake data marts while preserving business logic.

You will design governed data marts, publish dashboards in Sigma, and collaborate with business SMEs to deliver end-to-end reporting. The role emphasizes data modeling, governance, and HIPAA-aligned handling of healthcare data.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience as a BI Developer, Analytics Engineer, or equivalent.
• Strong SQL skills to read, decompose, and refactor legacy SQL Server code.
• Experience building Snowflake data models and marts.
• Proficiency with Sigma dashboards and reports.
• Solid dimensional modeling and semantic-layer design.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into self-explanatory reports.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Snowflake data marts as the source of truth.
• Develop dashboards and reports in Sigma for decision-ready insights.
• Reverse-engineer legacy SQL Server logic to Snowflake models.
• Collaborate with business SMEs to capture reporting requirements and deliver end-to-end.
• Document consistent definitions and metric logic for reconciled numbers.
• Apply dimensional modeling and semantic-layer design for performance.
