Job summary

JSM Consulting Inc. seeks an experienced Analytics/Data Engineer on a contract basis to transform Jack Henry core banking data into production-grade dimensional models in Snowflake. The role involves ingestion, modeling, and collaboration with Python teams to process API payloads from vendor interfaces.

The candidate will design dbt pipelines, implement data quality checks, and optimize Snowflake performance with RBAC and secure data handling in a hybrid Linux/Azure environment.

Qualifications

• Direct experience with Jack Henry core banking data structures or similar core financial platforms.
• Deep expertise in Snowflake architecture, complex SQL, and handling semi-structured data (JSON/VARIANT).
• Proven track record building production dbt models, data quality tests, and documentation.
• Strong background in Kimball dimensional modeling, SCDs and financial data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Python API ingestion workflows, GitHub version control, Postman API testing, and hybrid Linux/Azure environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build dimensional data models (Kimball star/snowflake schema) around Jack Henry core banking structures.
• Design dbt pipelines that join and append external third-party data feeds to the core data foundation.
• Develop, test, and document modular dbt transformation models with automated data quality checks and GitHub versioning.
• Collaborate with Python developers to process, flatten, and model raw API payloads from Jack Henry and vendor interfaces.
• Optimize Snowflake workloads, RBAC, clustering, and query performance for banking analytics.
