Job summary

PSIA-AASI Western Region seeks a qualified Snow Sports Supervisor to oversee the adult snowboard lesson program at our New York resort. The role emphasizes managing instructors, assigning lessons, and ensuring safety and guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years of snowboard teaching experience, AASI Level 1 certification (Level 2/3 preferred), and strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate activities and mentor staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising daily operations of the adult snowboard lesson program.
• Assign instructors to group and private lessons based on certification, experience, availability, and guest needs.
• Organize lesson groups and ensure appropriate ability level placement.
• Monitor lesson workflow, instructor utilization, guest wait times, and financial productivity.
• Observe lesson quality and coach instructors with feedback.
• Assist with training, mentoring, evaluating, and developing instructors.
• Communicate operational information, assignments, and schedule changes to instructors.
• Respond to instructor and guest questions, complaints, and concerns promptly.
• Enforce safety standards, policies, and Snow Sports School procedures.
• Coordinate with ski supervisors, children’s program supervisors, guest services, lift ops, and other resort departments.
• Assist instructors and team members as needed.
• Teach group and private snowboard lessons when assigned; perform other duties as needed by Snow Sports School leadership.

Position Responsibilities

• Organize lesson groups and ensure that students are placed at the appropriate ability level.
• Monitor lesson workflow, instructor utilization, guest wait times, and the financial productivity of the Snow Sports School.
• Observe lesson quality and provide instructors with coaching, support, and constructive feedback.
• Assist with training, mentoring, evaluating, and developing snowboard instructors.
• Communicate operational information, assignments, and schedule changes to instructors.
• Respond to instructor and guest questions, complaints, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Enforce all safety standards, company policies, and Snow Sports School procedures.
• Coordinate with ski supervisors, children’s program supervisors, guest services, lift operations, and other resort departments.
• Assist instructors and other team members in performing their duties when needed.
• Teach group and private snowboard lessons when assigned or operationally necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by Snow Sports School leadership.

Reporting

This position reports to the Snow Sports Director, Assistant Snow Sports Director, and Children’s Programs Manager.
