Job summary

Sugarloaf Mountain Corporation is seeking a snowboard instructor to lead group and private lessons, ensuring guests learn techniques safely and with enthusiasm. You will model proper form, follow resort safety policies, and support class organization while assisting guests and maintaining a positive atmosphere on the slopes.

The role emphasizes guest interaction, teamwork, and adherence to the Ski School Manual for consistent service and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Able to snowboard at an intermediate level or above.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct both group and private snowboard lessons for guests in accordance with resort guidelines.
• Demonstrate and communicate proper snowboard techniques.
• Promote and act as a role model in safety and risk awareness per resort policies.
• Adhere to the resort Handbook and Ski School Manual.
• Assist the skiing public whenever possible.
• Help with organizing and dividing classes when feasible.
• Contribute to team effort by participating in job sharing and maintaining cleanliness and guest safety.

Overview

Teaches the techniques of snowboarding, according to guidelines established by resort and AASI, in a group or individual setting and based on customer skill level. Must be willing to work with children, energetic, outgoing and able to interact with guests in a friendly and fun manner. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct both group and private snowboard lessons for guests in accordance with the guidelines established by resort and AASI.


• Ability to demonstrate and communicate proper snowboard techniques.


• To further promote and act as a role model in the area of the responsibility code, safety and risk awareness as prescribed by resort's safety policies.


• To be familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures of the resort Handbook and the resort Ski School Manual.


• Assist the skiing public whenever possible.


• Assist with organizing and dividing classes whenever possible.


• Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
