Job summary

Smugglers is seeking enthusiastic snowboard instructors for the Vermont season. Roles include teaching riders, delivering safety guidance, and mentoring guests through on-slope coaching.

Full-time and part-time positions are available, with pre-season training mandatory and certifications encouraged. Instructors may earn up to $50 per hour for private lessons, with training reimbursement, season passes for staff and family, discounts on equipment, food, and lodging, and free childcare as part of

• Instructors are expected to deliver, model, and educate guests on the technical riding aspects, safety and etiquette, with a strong value for personal safety.

Responsibilities

• Teach snowboarding techniques to guests of varying ages and abilities.
• Demonstrate proper safety practices and etiquette on the slopes.
• Be able to ride confidently on groomed and ungroomed terrain and communicate coaching points.
• Commit to pre-season training and ongoing certification as required.
• Maintain routine and on-time attendance, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Requirements:

• Instructors are expected to deliver, model, and educate guests on the technical side of riding; as well as the safety and etiquette associated, and have a strong value for personal safety.
• Must be able to work in a team setting and alone.
• Coaching/teaching experience is preferred but not required. Wage is determined by certifications and relevant experience.
• Full-time and part-time positions available. All pre-season training is mandatory.
• Responsibilities include being able to ride comfortably and in control on groomed black or ungroomed blue terrain, possess a passion for teaching snowboarding, own snowboarding equipment or are able to purchase by completion of training (must pass binding inspection) and own professional-looking, solid black snow pants or able to obtain by end of training.
• Must be able to commit to an approved calendar to include holiday periods, weekends or other busy times and have reliable transportation.
• Arrive on time, ready to work.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
