Sugarbush Resort seeks a Snow Reporter to join the resort marketing team. The role delivers real-time weather, event, and lift information to guests through multiple channels and helps attract visitors to the mountain.

This is a full- or part-time seasonal position paying $21/hour. Candidates should love skiing and riding and be capable of navigating varied winter terrain while maintaining accurate, engaging communications.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; college education may be required.
• Ability to safely navigate winter terrain on slopes in variable conditions.
• Strong writing and communication skills are essential.
• Required to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Arrive first thing in the morning and coordinate with Mountain Ops to gather up-to-date weather, conditions, snowfall, trail reports, and lift status.
• Update conditions on resort and third-party websites, phone, and via fax and email transmissions.
• Write engaging scripts with accurate information while maintaining a positive tone.
• Safely navigate the mountain on skis/snowboard to collect daily conditions.
• Attend daily snow plan meetings with Mountain Ops and other departments to plan reporting for the next day.
• Support social media and photography teams with content creation.
• Assist Marketing with other projects and events on an as-needed basis.

Position Summary

The Snow Reporter is a key member of the resort marketing team in supplying guests with real-time weather, event, and lift and trail information through a variety of communications channels. They are influential both in helping guests plan their visits and in attracting them to the mountain on any given day, and they remain a key guest facing employee promoting adventure within our brand. This is a full or part-time seasonal position that pays $21/hour.

Responsibilities

• Arrive first thing in the morning and work with Mountain Ops to gather the most up-to-date weather, conditions, snowfall, trail reports, open/closed lifts, etc.
• Update conditions on resort and third-party websites, phone, and via fax and email transmissions
• Write engaging scripts with accurate and detailed information while communicating a positive position
• Safely navigate the mountain on skis/snowboard to gather information on the day's conditions
• Attend daily snow plan meetings with Mountain Ops, Ski School, and other departments to plan for next day reporting
• Support social media and photography teams with photo and video content
• Support Marketing department with other projects and events on an as needed basis

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Basic HTML coding and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Strong writer and comfortable recording their own voice
• Punctuality, a strong work ethic, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Position relies on ability to safely and strongly navigate beginner and intermediate terrain in all winter weather conditions
• Positive attitude, guest service skills and a friendly disposition
• Bachelor's Degree preferred, college education required
• Work weekends and holidays
• Love for skiing and riding
