Job summary

Glaciers Edge Maintenance in South Anchorage is seeking a winter tractor operator to join our small, owner-operated team. The winter schedule includes on-call shifts with guaranteed 20 hours per week, and a summer period with guaranteed 40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 6 pm.

You may progress to a lawn care supervisor after one year, with salary and a company vehicle. No experience required, but an onsite driving test will be conducted.

Job description

Year round work - Guaranteed 20 hours a week November 1st - May 1st. Clean drivers license is required. Snow removal work is ON CALL 7 days a week October 15th-April 15th. Early Daytime shifts.

We are a smaller, owner operated property maintenance company specializing in South Anchorage. Looking to fill a winter tractor operator position. No experience is required, but a onsite driving test will be completed for the interview.

Winter work - October 15th - April 15th - Guaranteed 20 hours a week even if it doesnt snow. ON CALL 7 days a week, including holidays. This does require shop work, changing fluids, washing equipment, checking sites or operating the sanding truck. Snow removal everytime it snows 2' or more, operating a like new John Deere Tractor clearing residential driveways with a 80' wide snowblower.

Summer work is also available - April 16th - October 14th - Guaranteed 40 hours a week, Monday - Thursdays 8 am to 6pm. No weekends, occational rain delays on Fridays. 2 person lawn crew maintaining residential lawns in south anchorage. Must be capable of safetly backing up and towing an enclosed lawn trailer. Maintaining residential lawn areas through the use of walk behind mowers, walker ride on mowers, leaf-blowers, trimmers, rakes, lawn thatcher and edger. May use hand saws, pruning shears, hedgers, compactors, spreaders, and pull weeds.

Minimum Qualifications

• Winter work is ON CALL 7 days a week, 7am to 5pm October 15th-April 15th
• Must possess current and 3 year clean driver’s license
• High School or equivalent diploma.
• Must be able to walk frequently; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must possess a positive attitude, exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Has excellent problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates strong verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work with diverse cultures and people of many ethnic and social backgrounds.

This position is designed to lead into our lawn care supervisor after one year of employment, which is salary and includes a company vehicle.
