Job summary

Homewood Mountain Resort seeks a Snow Removal Operator in the Parking & Transportation Department. Responsibilities include clearing snow from parking areas to keep guests safe and provide a smooth arrival experience at the resort in Tahoe City, CA.

Qualified candidates will have a valid Class C license and experience operating large equipment; prior ski resort or hospitality background is preferred. Positions require early-morning shifts, weekends, and holidays during snow events.

Qualifications

• Valid Class C Driver License required.
• Experience operating large heavy equipment is required.
• Winter snow-plowing experience preferred.
• Prior ski resort or hospitality experience preferred.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty equipment, primarily loaders.
• Work off-hours including weekends and holidays; shifts may be 3:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
• Inspect equipment and fluid levels before use; fuel as needed.
• Inspect tire chains; coordinate with mechanics for repairs.
• Operate safely with emphasis on safe, thorough snow removal.
• Report safety concerns to Base Operations Director by phone or text.
• Protect the mountain environment from spills; follow environmental practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California. Homewood is seeking a Snow Removal Operator to join the Parking & Transportation Department.

Job Summary

Snow Removal Operators are responsible for removing snow from all Homewood parking lots during and after snowstorms. The goal is to maintain safe, accessible parking areas and ensure a smooth experience for our guests.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty equipment, primarily loaders.
• Be available to work off-hours, including weekends and holidays. Snow removal shifts are primarily scheduled between 3:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., depending on storm conditions and operational needs.
• Inspect equipment and fluid levels before use.
• Fuel equipment as needed.
• Inspect tire chains and coordinate with vehicle mechanics for repairs or adjustments as necessary.
• Operate all equipment safely and responsibly, prioritizing safe and efficient snow removal over speed.
• Immediately report any leaks, spills, equipment damage, or other safety concerns to the Base Operations Director by phone or text.
• Help protect the mountain environment by taking care to prevent and promptly address fuel, hydraulic fluid, or other spills. We take pride in being responsible stewards of the environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid Class C Driver License and a driving record meeting the standards required by Homewood’s insurance carrier.
• Previous experience operating large heavy equipment is required.
• Winter snow-plowing experience is preferred.
• Prior ski resort or hospitality experience preferred.
• 18 years of age or older.

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $22.60-$35 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
