Job summary

Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN is seeking a Snowmaker for the winter season to operate snowmaking equipment and support grooming of trails for optimal skiing conditions.

You will manage snowmaking machines during day and night shifts, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure continuous snow production across trail systems. Seasonal, temp roles with opportunities to apply for related outdoor operations during the season.

• Work in different shifts, including day and night, to ensure continuous snow production.

Description

The Snowmaker is crucial in creating the ideal skiing conditions at Spirit Mountain. This role involves managing and operating Snowmaking equipment such as snowmobiles and blowers to produce artificial snow, ensuring the mountain is primed for skiing and snowboarding activities. The Snowmaker plays a pivotal part in mountain operations, often being the first on the slopes and the last to leave, while experiencing the mountain in its most pristine state. While this position only typically last for a few months, we encourage our Snowmakers to also apply to Outdoor Operations as Lift Attendants to transfer positions mid season.

• Type: Temporary, Full/Part Time


• Shifts: Day, 2nd, 3rd (overnight)- with shift differentials


• Application Period: Open Now (Hiring Begins in October)


• Duration: Snowmaking Season (November - December)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Attend Snowmaking and Snowmobile trainings in November.


• Age 18 years or older.


• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.


• Ability to ride snowmobile or want to learn preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Stand and walk for extended periods.


• Competence in working under adverse weather conditions.


• Bend, twist, and turn regularly.


• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
