Job summary

Jay Peak Resort in Vermont is seeking a seasonal Groomer to prepare and maintain safe ski trails using grooming vehicles. You must be flexible for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Work closely with Patrol, Lifts and Snowmaking to achieve daily goals and ensure safety on the mountain.

The role requires reading instruments, identifying hazards, and complying with health and safety protocols. A Vermont driver’s license is required and 2-5 years of snow cat experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-5 years of experience operating a snow cat in a mountain environment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
• Strong math skills for rate, ratio and percent calculations.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on diverse terrain.
• Valid Vermont driver’s license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection, fueling and cleaning of grooming machinery.
• Groom ski trails at day and night in mountainous terrain.
• Communicate work performed and area covered to other operators.
• Train Groomer I operators under supervision.
• Assist with other duties related to mountain grooming operations.
