Job summary

Woodford County Health Department is seeking a SNAP Connect and Food Navigation Intern in Peoria for a part-time/temporary role (through June 2027). The position pays $18.00 per hour and offers the chance to support community health through SNAP-Ed education and food access initiatives.

The intern will assist with nutrition classes, identify SNAP-eligible individuals, provide basic SNAP application help, conduct outreach, and help track data.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma
• Ability to work independently and support team-based tasks.
• Basic computer and data entry skills, including familiarity with online portals
• Valid Illinois driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Assist with SNAP-Ed nutrition classes and food access programming.
• Identify and refer SNAP-eligible individuals.
• Provide basic SNAP application assistance.
• Conduct community outreach.
• Support data tracking and reporting.
• Coordinate with Woodford County Community Health Worker for follow-up assistance.
