Job summary

Army NAF Carlisle Barracks seeks a Food Service Worker to prepare a limited menu in a snack bar, including hamburgers, hot dogs, pizzas and fries, and to handle food prep, storage, and service. You will support delivery, beverage service, and event catering.

Attention to sanitation, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are required. Training in food sanitation and safety is emphasized, with compliance checks and background considerations noted.

Qualifications

• Must meet state/local age requirements at appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
• Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order.
• Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
• Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
• Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
• Able to lift and move objects up to 45 pounds and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push and reach.

Responsibilities

• In a Snack Bar prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc.
• Prepares/slices lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables for sandwiches, salads, and pizzas. Removes perishable foods from the freezer for daily activities.
• Assures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned. Cleans other work areas to include walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas.
• Takes delivery of supplies and ensures proper storage of shipments after delivery. Accepts food orders from patrons and serves alcoholic beverages.
• Coordinates food and beverage needs for special events, not limited to preparing and serving food and cleaning work areas. Performs other duties as assigned.
