Job summary

Trinity Health MI in Grand Rapids is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to assist in preparing and distributing medications while maintaining patient records. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work flexible shifts in accordance with department needs.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician License issued by Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Bureau of Professional Licensing.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
• 2+ years pharmacy work experience in long term care pharmacy setting preferred.

Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, assists Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Credentials/Licensure

Related Experience

• Preferred: 2+ years pharmacy work experience in long term care pharmacy setting.

Essential Functions

• Prepares, packages, and distributes medication orders per physician/pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations and established policies, procedures, or protocols.
• Contributes to effective and quality operation of the department.
• Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation, files documentation.
• Order packaging and scheduling deliveries.
• Perform simple pharmaceutical calculations including, but not limited to, days’ supply and weight-based dosing calculations.
• Participate in the training, education, precepting, and evaluation of pharmacy students and/or residents as assigned.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
