Job description

  • Bachelor or four year degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Health, Psychology or a related field is recommended. A 2 year degree or 60 credit hours will be accepted in Early Childhood or related field. A high school diploma or GED and 2 years previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
  • Must pass criminal background check and is subject to the agency’s drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Negative Tuberculosis Screen, First Aid certification, CPR certification with emphasis on children and toddlers.
  • Extensive travel required in the area; must be able to travel outside project area as assigned.
  • May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
  • Possess a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as approved by the agency’s vehicle insurance carrier.
  • Employee must have an account with a financial institution that can process financial transactions through MET’s electronic payroll system.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer functions.
  • Military Connected.

Job Duties:

  • Organize and participate in Outreach & Community Events.
  • Facilitate curriculum and sessions.
  • Facilitate in Jail and institutions.
  • Complete and manage reports and activities in accordance with program requirements.
  • Collect data and track client progress and conduct assessments to identify possible interventions, provide guidance and referrals to resources.
  • Develop self-sufficiency action plans and assist participants in selection of work experiences.
  • Facilitate group activities, program overviews, and assessments.
  • Participate in staff meetings, case reviews and supervised coaching.
  • Track required program data, maintain case files, assessments, support services and work experience by federal, state and agency funding.
  • Maintain and submit in a timely manner all required program documentation.
  • Organize and inventory supplies and materials.
  • Participate in at least 1 hours of reflective supervision per month.
  • Participate in at least 2 hours of staff meetings per month.
  • Obtain competency based professional development and renew parent educator certification annually.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement.
  • Report to work at scheduled time and maintain good attendance. Perform all duties in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Participate with a positive attitude and behavior in all program activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
  • Perform all other duties as outlined by supervisor.
