Job summary

Motivation Education & Training, Inc. is seeking a Parent Educator to coordinate and monitor family services in line with PAT Essential Requirements and Quality Standards.

  • Bachelor or four year degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Health, Psychology or a related field is recommended.
  • A 2 year degree or 60 credit hours will be accepted in Early Childhood or related field.
  • A high school diploma or GED and 2 years previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
  • Must pass criminal background check and is subject to the agency’s drug and alcohol testing program.

Job description

  • The Parent Educator will exercise a high level of independence in making decisions and commitments within guidelines of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Detail and multi-task oriented. Strong organizational, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Able to resolve conflicts, creative and resourceful with time management skills.
  • Have a commitment to reflective supervision, data collection and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or four year degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Health, Psychology or a related field is recommended. A 2 year degree or 60 credit hours will be accepted in Early Childhood or related field. A high school diploma or GED and 2 years previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
  • Must pass criminal background check and is subject to the agency’s drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Negative Tuberculosis Screen, First Aid certification, CPR certification with emphasis on children and toddlers.
  • Extensive travel required in the area; must be able to travel outside project area as assigned.
  • May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
  • Possess a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as approved by the agency’s vehicle insurance carrier.
  • Employee must have an account with a financial institution that can process financial transactions through MET’s electronic payroll system.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer functions.
