Job summary

Microboard in Seymour, CT is seeking an experienced SMT Process Engineer to lead development across stencil printing, placement, reflow, AOI and X‑ray processes. You will own CpK analysis, yield metrics, and line efficiency while mentoring junior staff and coordinating cross‑functional activities with design, production, and quality teams.

The role supports NPIs and manufacturing readiness, partnering with customers to ensure manufacturability and robust process capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 3–7 years SMT process engineering in electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610.

Responsibilities

• Lead SMT process development across stencil printing, placement, reflow, AOI, SPI, and X‑ray.
• Own CpK analysis, yield metrics, and line efficiency improvements.
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, production, quality, and maintenance.
• Support NPIs and production readiness.
• Review PCB design and panelization for manufacturability.
• Interface with customers for manufacturability feedback.
